By Bob Maton, AVHC (April 11, 2021) Hamilton staff have already said they will not support six storeys, and this is seven. \u201cCity staff have already stated during a formal consultation with the owners September 2020 the proposal for a six-storey building is \u201cout of character and not consistent\u201d under the Ancaster Wilson Street Secondary Plan. The report stated the application \u201cwill likely not be supported by staff\u201d as presented in the \u201cconcept plan.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Over a year after the\u00a0Brandon House was demolished<\/a>, the owner of the Ancaster property at the corner of Wilson and Rousseaux streets is proposing a seven-storey, 170-unit retirement facility that will be operated by Amica Senior Lifestyles.<\/p>\n

A Neighborhood letter delivered in early March 2025 from the developer, 2691893 Ontario Inc, confirms that the developer will reapply for exactly the same 7 storey building that did not get approval in 2024. \u00a0The failed plan is being refiled exactly as it was. \u00a0The City has yet to circulate official notice but Councillor Craig Cassar confirms that an application has been filed for exactly the same building. \u00a0AVHC is monitoring this and will pass on developments. \u00a0
